Connect an MCP client

Connect an MCP client to read feedback or manage a PushFeedback project. The client can perform only the operations allowed by its API key and your plan.

Before you start

  • Access to your PushFeedback project's Settings.
  • A project-restricted API key. Use feedback_read to read feedback. Dashboard key creation requires Unlimited.
  • A client that supports a remote MCP connection.

Connect to a project

  1. Open Projects > your project > Settings.
  2. Under MCP, select Enable MCP access and click Save on that card.
  3. Copy MCP endpoint. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with your project-restricted key in the client's private configuration.
  4. Use Add MCP to copy a setup command or open a supported client. You can paste a key in API key for quick setup (optional) to include it in the generated configuration.
  5. In the client, list the available tools and read a feedback entry to check the connection.

The endpoint has this format:

https://mcp.pushfeedback.com/v2/YOUR_PROJECT_ID/mcp?api_key=YOUR_API_KEY

Get YOUR_PROJECT_ID from Snippet. Treat the full URL as a credential. Do not share it or commit it to a repository.

Permissions and errors

Start with read permissions. Update and delete scopes let the client change or permanently remove data. Review client requests before allowing those actions.

If no tools are available, check the key's permissions and the project's Enable MCP access setting. If access is denied, check that the key covers the project and that the current plan permits the operation. A downgraded project can be inaccessible even with a valid key.

To disconnect, clear Enable MCP access and save. Revoke the key as well if the client should lose all API access.
